Abstract

Human trafficking is a metamorphosis of slavery in the modern era. This human trafficking activity is conducted with violence, deception, and manipulates its target with enticing promises of reward, an actual form of controlling people's lives and forcefully seizing their dignity and freedom. The purpose of this study is to investigate the acts of human trafficking that corrupt the image of God before humans and to determine the theological reflection on God's image that is harmed by these acts. This research used qualitative descriptive and library research methods. The results of this study indicate that human trafficking is a distorted reflection of God’s image.  This conclusion is based on the finding that the trafficking of humans is a crime against humanity because it controls the lives of others and eliminates their freedom. It is a legitimate form of structural injustice.
